We've Had a Breakthrough

The Health Benefits of Wine Tasting is one of the events that helped launch this website. In fact I have a little summary on the back of my business card, the top 10 reasons to drink red wine everyday. This coming saturday August 13 part 2 of the Health Benefits of Wine Tasting is going to be held at Powers Liquor Mart.

In relation to this, one of our very regular attendees related her health breakthrough to me this past saturday. She has started drinking red wine regularly in the past couple months. That's the only thing that changed between getting blood tests done. I don't know the exact numbers, but her bad cholesterol went down, good cholesterol went up and her lipids improved. Like I mentioned all she did differently was drink a glass of red wine on a regular basis between her two tests. Congratulations to our esteemed friend who has started attending at the 2:30 tasting, and has always added very thoughtful comments about what we are tasting!

With that success in mind here's 10 Reasons to drink red wine everyday (1-3 glasses at most)

  1. It's fun and it lowers stress!
  2. It's filled with cancer-preventing anti-oxidants.
  3. It thins the blood-preventing stroke and heart attack.
  4. Increases vital mineral intake.
  5. Moderate intake (1-2 glasses daily) lowers blood pressure.
  6. Moderate intake improves cardiovascular health.
  7. Inhibits the growth of ulcer causing bacterium.
  8. Moderate wine drinkers get sick less often and for a shorter time.
  9. Can improve bone density-holding off osteoporosis.
  10. Raises levels of HDL (good) cholesterol while lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol-inhibiting blood clotting.
