Jean-Claude Boisset - Méditerranée Merlot - Vin de Pays D'Oc 2000 (France)

Price - unknown - Size - 1.5 L - Tasted at home on Sunday, April 29. My in-laws bought this, but neither of them knows which one or where they even got it.

This wine has a deep red color with medium quick legs and some sediment, implying that it is unfiltered. The nose is semi-sweet fruit with a hint of alcohol. The wine has some tart cherries up front (mediterranean characteristic?) with a hint of raisins in the middle. Has a somewhat light flavor and light body making it food friendly. It gets dry and a touch astringent on the medium length finish. Grade: C+
